Before we begin, I want to recommend my post How to Create Stunning Pinterest Pins Using Canva. In this post, I will teach you, step-by-step, how to make a really beautiful pin for Pinterest using Canva! I recommend reading this post before continuing.

Alrighty, let’s get started!

Step 1. Add your image to Pinterest

Okay, the first thing you want to do is add your blog post’s image/thumbnail to Pinterest. To get to the screen shown below, you will want to clock on “Create” then “Create Pin”.

Now you can either drag and drop an image into the gray box or you can click it and upload the image. I usually click to add my images.

Step 2. Add a title and a description

Next, you will want to click “Add your title” to, well, add your title. I usually just use the title of the blog post. Then add a description. I want mine to be short and to the point.

This next part is optional, but I still definitely recommend doing it. You can add alt text to your image and a link. Even if you decide not to do the alt text, I think that you should at least add a link to your blog post. That way, your viewers can easily access your post from the Pinterest pin.

Then, decide whether you want the pin to be published right away, or at a later date.

Step 3. Post!

The last thing you need to do is publish your pin! Decide which board you want to save it to, then hit “Publish”!

If you chose to have it published at a later date, then viewers will be able to see it at the date and time that you chose.
