The Creation of My Unique “Personality Necklaces”

It Starts with an Idea

The creation of my personality necklace all started with the 2022 Etsy Design Awards. I wanted to submit a listing into this contest, not really planning to win anything, but wanting to get more Etsy experience. Now, Etsy doesn’t want you to submit just any old listing, they want it to be special. Personally, I think that all of my jewelry is special in its own way, but I wanted to submit something with a unique purpose. Now, I just needed to figure out what.

I was telling one of my friends about my predicament, and she gave me a great idea. What if I made something with several different color options, with every color having a special meaning? I thought that that was a great idea!

Making it Happen

So, I decided to make a beaded flower necklace, the first necklace that I was ever going to sell. Customers can choose up to 3 different colors for their necklace, with each color standing for a different personality trait!

I think that this is a really sweet idea! It allows someone to give a not only personalized gift but also a symbolic one. Buyers now have the opportunity to give a loved one (or themselves) a necklace that fits their personality!

And it doesn’t just end there… My customers also have the option to add a name to their personality necklace! With no additional cost! Woo woo!

Altogether, I think that these necklaces make such a special and touching gift. Hopefully, the perfect entry for Etsy Design Awards! My goal is to remind the beautiful girls who wear my necklaces what some of their best traits are! Remember…

“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment… Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” (1 Peter 3:3-4)

Even though you may be wearing jewelry, that is not what makes you beautiful! That is the point that I want to get to everyone through my personality necklaces!

WOW! I really love the thought you put into the design and the purpose behind it. I might just have to get myself one.
